The Story Behind BeneCentric

Hi, I’m Herb.
My professional career spanned 30 years in technology, followed by nearly 20 years in employee benefits. During the most recent chapter of my career, I helped thousands of employees understand their benefit options, make informed coverage decisions, and complete the enrollment process.
I always found it especially rewarding to see that “aha” moment on someone's face when they finally understood their benefits and felt comfortable with the choices they were making.
When Valerie and I became eligible for Medicare, I assumed that with my insurance and benefits background, understanding our coverage options would be straightforward.
It was anything but!
Medicare felt far more complicated and confusing than I expected.
Ultimately, our own Medicare experience is what led me to “un-retire” and create BeneCentric so I could offer others the same straightforward guidance I provided to all of those employees over the years as they made their important benefit decisions.
As a Medicare Advantage plan beneficiary (member) myself, I understand the importance of finding coverage that fits each person's healthcare needs, priorities, and budget.
There’s no pressure, no rushing, and no cost to you for my guidance and support. I’ll take the time to listen to what matters most to you and help you reach your own “aha” moment when Medicare begins to make sense. From there, I’ll guide you through choosing and enrolling in coverage with confidence and peace of mind.
Reach out to me today and let's work through this together.

Meet my wife and best friend, Valerie—my sounding board, and unofficial Chief Common Sense Officer.
Although Valerie isn’t involved in the day-to-day business, she’s often the first person I turn to when I need an honest opinion. She has a knack for cutting through complexity, asking the right questions, and bringing the focus back to what matters most—helping people.
She has always had a thoughtful, practical way of helping people solve problems—with patience, kindness, intelligence, and plenty of common sense. Those natural instincts served her well during her 23 year career assisting others at our local public library.
Valerie is also a Medicare Advantage plan beneficiary (member), so she understands firsthand how important it is to find coverage that is practical, affordable, and right for you.
When she’s not helping to keep me grounded, Valerie loves spending time with our five adult children and our 12 beautiful grandchildren, who keep life busy, joyful, noisy, and full of laughter.

Last, but hardly least, meet Rosie, our unofficial Head of Security. She takes her job very seriously, especially when it comes to monitoring delivery drivers, neighborhood activity, and suspicious squirrel behavior outside the window.
As our lovable, active, and playful four-year-old Labradoodle rescue and full-time companion, Rosie is usually nearby and may occasionally make a surprise appearance or “voice” her opinion during phone calls or virtual meetings.
She may not know much about Medicare, but she's really good at reminding us not to take ourselves too seriously.
